Dieren tekenen vind ik erg leuk, en ik hou er ook van om voor mensen hun favoriete dier te tekenen. Dus toen Kerosene desgevraagd antwoordde dat een zwarte panter ooit haar favoriet was, kwam bovenstaande uit mijn pen en penseel rollen. Misschien toch niet de panter die zij bedoeld had?!?

I love to draw animals, and I like to draw people's favourite animal. So when I asked and Kerosene answered that the black panter used to be her favourite, this black panter appeared on my paper. It might not be the one she meant?!?

Songbird in tree and butterflies

Geïnspireerd door Katerina's gele vlinders op Brain Cell 855 voegde ik gele vlinders toe aan deze 'Zangvogel in boom'. (In het echt zijn ze geel, maar de scanner maakte ze ineens oranje...)
Verzonden naar Katerina in Griekenland.

Inspired by Katerina's yellow butterflies on Brain Cell 855, I added yellow butterflies to this 'Songbird in tree'. (In real the butterflies are really yellow, but the scanner somehow made them orange...)

Colour test prints

Zoals in een wijze spreuk gezegd wordt: "Creatieve mensen hebben geen rommel, creatieve mensen hebben overal ideeën liggen".
En die 'rommel' vind je zelfs aan de binnenkant van je pak eten - wat een ander 'gewoon' weg zou gooien!
Bovenstaande kleurproeven verzamelde ik - en vulde ik aan met een eigen interpretatie - voor Anna Banana in Canada, voor haar 'Colour test prints' project. Ben erg benieuwd wat zij daarmee gaat doen!

As said in wise words: Creative people don't have a mess, creative people have ideas laying everywhere'.
This 'mess' (garbage, clutter) is anywhere, also at the inside of your food package.
These colour test prints I gathered together to send to Anna Banana in Canada, for her 'Colour test prints' project. Looking forward to knowing what she'll do with these!

Een zangvogel - de stem als instrument. Oftewel mijn interpretatie van het nieuwe Mail a Smile onderwerp: een muziekinstrument bespelen. Voor wie de 'stem' geen muziekinstrument vindt: op de postzegel staat een ander instrument!

Dit weekend nog meer muziek. Dankzij Eva's blogbericht ontdekte ik de website van Anke. En omdat zij sleutels blijkt te sparen, kon ik het niet laten om onderstaande tekening voor haar te maken. Helaas kon ik haar geen echte sleutel sturen, de meeste gebruik ik gewoon, en eentje zit vast... aan een gitaarspelend kleipoppetje.

This weekend I created another musical instrument. Thanks to Eva's blog post I discovered Anke's website 'Snail Mail Magazine'. When I found out that Anke collects keys, I couldn't resist drawing this guitar player to send to her. Alas I couldn't send her a real key, because most of my keys I'm using to open doors, and the un-used one has been sticked to a guitar playing clay puppet...

Mail a Smile Challenge #2

Vorige maand deed ik voor 't eerst mee aan het 'Stuur een glimlach' mail art project. Het tweede onderwerp is 'Een kop thee of koffie', gekozen door Eva. Hierboven een vilten kopje thee (met echte, geurige thee erachter, de techniek is nog niet zo ver dat ik die essence ook kan publiceren!). Hieronder thee- èn koffiekopjes, en daaronder een collage van de postzegels.
Nog drie dagen te gaan; wil je ook meedoen en Micu's Moeder een hart onder de riem steken, meld je snel aan bij Mail a Smile!



Last month I participated in the first Mail a Smile challenge. The second challenge's theme is 'A cup of tea or coffee', chosen by Eva.
Above on top you see a felt cup of tea (with real tea bags behind it; computer technology hasn't developed that far yet: I cannot publish the smell of tea!).
Just above some tea and coffee cups, and below you see a collage of the stamps I made / sticked.
Only three days to go to join this challenge. If you want to join and send a smile to Micu's Mom in this period of pain and sorrow, don't hesitate to sign up to Mail a Smile!

Platypus stamps!

Afgelopen vrijdag was een leuke 'postdag'. Een mooie vakantiekaart van Eva kwam in m'n brievenbus. En tot mijn opluchting stuurde Adamandia bericht dat mijn vis-op-tv tóch aangekomen was.
En als klap op de vuurpijl ontving ik van vriendin Linda Robertus uit Australië leuke stempeltjes van Australische dieren - hartstikke bedankt, Linda!
Maar wat een verrassing toen de stempels ook nog eens verpakt bleken te zijn in een mooie envelop vol postzegels (desondanks was zelfs nog plaats voor drie post-/douane-stickers!). Waaronder postzegels van een vuurtoren en van het Vogelbekdier. Dank, wat attent, dank!

Last Friday was a happy 'mail day'. A nice holiday postcard arrived from Eva. And to my relief I learnt by a message from Adamandia that my fish-on-tv hadn't been lost in the post, as I thought before.
And my friend Linda Robertus sent me some rubber stamps of Australian animals - thanks a lot, Linda!
And to my big surprise these stamps were packed in an envelope full of postage stamps (despite this there was even room for three mail/customs stickers!). Among them stamps showing a lighthouse (sorry Eva, the coming time I'll keep this envelope complete, I even opened it carefully, on the back side, in order not to 'disturb' the stamps). And stamps showing the Platypus! How attentive, thank you very much, Linda!
