The return of the Knitter

It took a lot of time, but finally I finished knitting my reply to Thom,

Thank you, Ptrzia TicTac, for your Mail Art stamp!)

Added to and returned (3): Fish on tv

December 2011 I received the request you see below, together with various ephemera in a beautiful envelope, made and sent by Adamandia Kapsalis. See above for my reply. Made and sent one year and one week after...
It's my contribution to Adamandia's TV mail art project. The subject 'Television' of course offers unlimited inspiration. But suddenly fish arrived on the tv-screen, and I couldn't help sending fish to Adamandia.

Fe mail art

Beautiful mail from Moan Lisa from the USA. The content, as you can read below, is confidential, so I kept the content within the envelope. I'm sure you'll understand: the internet of course is too public to publish everything.
But take a look at the beautiful rubber stamp prints! For me it's nice to see that the USA mailbox looks so different from the Dutch one.

P.S. Concerning mailboxes: I have some difficulty translating 'brievenbus' into the right English word, as every country seems to have it's own word(s). Mailbox, letterbox, postbox... The IUOMA group learnt me that I am not the only one in confusion.
In Dutch the word 'brievenbus' literally means 'letter bus/box', but it is used for two types of boxes: the box for outgoing and the one for incoming mail. However, similar to the function, the box itself is different.
See also the nice question and various answers (maybe you could add yours to it!?) on Eva's blog.

Thank you very much, Moan Lisa!

Added to and returned (2): E-mail art

I appear to be rather slow in replying to add-and-return projects in snail mail. Meanwhile I surprised myself (and maybe dear Fraenz Frisch, too) by replying to this email add-and-return request within a few hours!
This collage has been composed by Keith Bates, Fraenz himself, RCBz, Paul Tiililä and me.

More information about this, recently started, e-mail art project by Fraenz Frisch you can read here.

Everyone is - YOU are! - an Artist

Received - I think - from Sandusky Drive, Iowa City.
I agree with Picasso's words: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
I hope that all of you, dear blog visitors, will have succeeded in deleting this problem!

Thank you, Moan Lisa and/or Superhero!

Crocheted woven mail art card

I'm much behind handling my mail. These beautifully stamped envelopes I'm enjoying already since September (2011!). And not earlier than now I'm able to show them here (and to thank Thom). See also the two cinderella stamps of the République du Coeur, the Heart's Republic.
Inside a special postcard: crocheted and woven! Made and sent by Thom Courcelle from Seattle, as an answer to my mini-knitwork.

Thank you very much, Thom!

Survival of the Knitters

Geprolongeerd: Klein breien blijkt leuk te zijn! (En de 100 knopspelden moeten op.)
Continued: 'Mini'-knitting appears to be fun! (And I have to get rid of the 100 pins, now 96, which I hardly use for other purposes.)

Voor het / for the Textile Mail Art project.

Some time ago I drew a mermaid at the rings, and I contributed to Carlos Botana's 'Send me a mermaid' project.
And suddenly now three, no even four mermaids appear within three days!

Deze gaat ook weer naar / This one will be sent to Carlos Botana:

De postzegel legde dit dilemma bloot / The stamp revealed this mermaid-problem:

Deze zeemeermin stuur ik naar / This mermaid I'll post to Marcia Bryan:

As an answer to my air mail art I received this documentation. I like the postage stamp-stamp in the envelope!
It's a nice idea that my contribution not only is exhibited online, but also in the real (analogue?) museum.

Below a new theme to which the Modesto Art Museum invites us. Watch the museum website!

Received from Rachel Freeman

Mail artist and collage artist Rachel Freeman sent a great animal (I'm not sure if this was meant for the Real Weird Animals website, but to my opinion, looking closer, ducks are lovely weird animals, too!).

Also she sent me these beautiful Kansas Sun Flowers, both as a mail art collage as on the envelope.

Together with two bookmarks, of which I want to share this Lorax by Dr. Seuss (how did you know that at this moment I'm trying to speak for the trees?).

Thanks a lot, Rachel!

From the Sketchbook series (3)

Two pages from the first sketchbook - titled 'This is not a Sketchbook' - with a contribution inspired by Patrizia's beautiful project (which I like to announce). Though alas this bottle went to Brooklyn, USA, instead of Starnberg, Germany.
Patrizia, please have some more patience, the announced one will arrive on day (hopefully this month)!

From the Sad Fish series (2), from the Sketchbook series (2)

Today I finally finished one of the two sketchbooks for the 'Sketchbook Project' and sent it by snail mail to overseas.
The second one to finish still has lots of blanc pages, while the deadline is January 15th...
The theme of this second sketchbook is 'Lines and Grids', and thinking of 'grids' also this one appears in mind. Alas with sad consequences for our swimming friends...
(Sorry, Salina!)
