The revenge of the Fish

Anyone who thinks 'sport' fishing is a nice hobby is short-sighted. There is debate about the question whether fish do feel pain or not, but I think no one can deny that having a hook stinged through your lip and getting into an environment in which you're suffering from asphyxia is not such a nice situation.

Mail art for the greatest Piggy Mail Art collector in the world

Yes, I think Nicole the most wonderful collector of Pig mail art I have ever seen. So it isn't hard to find out what kind of mail art I should create to send her: Pigs, of course!
The one below is a pointillistic one. If I ever will have more free time, I'd like to draw and paint pigs in more styles from art history (impressionist, classic, cave murals, expressionist, etcetera). Alas time is limited, so I hope to be able to do so step by step in the coming months, years...

Banana Day

The third Wednesday in April is said to be Banana Day, as are 21st of February and 18th of November and some more days.



This illustration I made on the back side of a package (so it is a kind of recycling art). And sent it too late for a previous Banana Day, and also too late for Banana Bread day. But at least it was postmarked on Leap Day and much appreciated by the receiver, Katerina in Greece.

Reply to haptic werewolf

Onlangs ontving ik mail art met een 'haptische weerwolf' erop afgebeeld. Die hoort natuurlijk bij de real weird animals. De afzender had er een citaat op gezet, wat me aan het denken zette, met de volgende belangrijke vraag als gevolg: is het nu Erniness of Ernieness?

Some time ago I received mail art showing a werewolf, which of course had to be posted in the Real Weird Animals blog. The sender had added a quote, which made me wonder: Erniness or Ernieness, that's the question.



Erni schreef er het volgende over, wat nog altijd stof tot nadenken geeft.

Mail a Smile Challenge #2

Vorige maand deed ik voor 't eerst mee aan het 'Stuur een glimlach' mail art project. Het tweede onderwerp is 'Een kop thee of koffie', gekozen door Eva. Hierboven een vilten kopje thee (met echte, geurige thee erachter, de techniek is nog niet zo ver dat ik die essence ook kan publiceren!). Hieronder thee- èn koffiekopjes, en daaronder een collage van de postzegels.

Last month I participated in the first Mail a Smile challenge. The second challenge's theme is 'A cup of tea or coffee', chosen by Eva.
Above on top you see a felt cup of tea (with real tea bags behind it; computer technology hasn't developed that far yet: I cannot publish the smell of tea!).
