Bananawalk and Bananarms

I hope it is not too late for my reply to an invitation Anna Banana has sent to me in Januray 2017 from Canada.

And I guess bananawalking will be too slow, and running won't help either, to have the mail arrive quicker. Enfin, we'll see...

Sent in this envelope to Canada.

Mail Chicken and Mail Gull

About 48 weeks ago I painted two postal birds, on eggs. Birds other than the well-known mail pigeons. I peeled the eggs a little on the back to remove the inside. And I've kept them for almost a year in my kitchen window sill.

Finally the time has come to let them go, thanks to this call for an Egg Mail Art project!

So I packed them and added some drawing inside the box:

Seems to be a good question: 'Who was first, the chicken or the egg?'. These birds know the answer!

And I addressed it to the curator of this project, Éva in Hungary:

With some flying egg on the back side (all credits to the mail artist who drew this first - alas I forgot who it was.):

All in a larger package with many stamps:

Wishing both birds a good and safe travel!

Received months ago, from "E" from Utopia / France, as a reply to this parcel.
Are you curious to know what's inside of it? So am I! Believe it or not, the parcel still remained unopened. And enjoyed a lot - merci beaucoup, "E"!

Doe-het-zelf kit

Since coffeecups can't be put through the letterbox opening, one has to send it this way.

Verzonden naar Eva / sent to Eva.
Eva, també pot prendre el te, saps?!

Ontvangen & gevonden voorwerp

Gemaakt en gestuurd door Nico van Hoorn. Hartelijk dank, Nico!

Made and sent by Nico van Hoorn, the Netherlands.
And I found a lost object which I sent to him.

I'm curious to know: what would be on this "CD2!!!"? Alas the cd was scratched too much to dare to put it into the CD-player or computer...
At least this art object is beautiful and dynamic (the colours depend on the illumination angle!).

Survival of the Knitters

Geprolongeerd: Klein breien blijkt leuk te zijn! (En de 100 knopspelden moeten op.)
Continued: 'Mini'-knitting appears to be fun! (And I have to get rid of the 100 pins, now 96, which I hardly use for other purposes.)

Voor het / for the Textile Mail Art project.

Received from Amuldo

This special envelope - sent by Amuldo - contains a special piece of mail art. However, as it is in 4D (I think: the well-known three dimensions plus 'time' as a fourth dimension) I didn't succeed yet to show it here on the internet.
So have a little more patience! Until I'll have converted the - for you unknown - 'irl' piece into a digital version you'll have to enjoy the colourful envelope!

More work by Amuldo, for instance knitstones, you can see on, among others, MIEKniffity.

Hartelijk dank, Amuldo!

Received from Okadascat

A rather unusual mail art object came into my postbox: Knitting Art!
Made by Okadascat as an answer to my contributions to Okadascat's I Like Purple mail art project.

About Knitting Art there is a lot to say. Thanks to Okadascat and to other mail artists I learned that knitting can be used for all kinds of art purposes, like Kniffity, and even you can replace nature by Knitted Flora.

And this beautiful envelope covered the cool brooch...

... a brick wall envelope which for some reason made me think of an other zealous mail artist: Andy, of course, the founder of the Real Wall.

How nice to see the circle is round (or: the world is small): on Andy and Elena's Real Wall there is a lot of Knitting Art from Okadascat!

Thanks a lot, Okadascat, for your brooch, stamps and your kind message!

Tiny art (part 3 - a Happy End/Ant)

Yes! The tiny art piece I sent to the USA for Josh Ronsen's Tiny Art Exchange has arrived!

It first seemed to have been lost in the post, and a newspaper message was issued (see below).

But - after weeks and months of despair and confusion - unexpected and to my big surprise I found this original amazing mail ant postcard in my mailbox, with an accompanying relieving message:

The editor of the newspaper today has published this new breaking news:

Thanks a lot, Josh, for your kind postcard and for the pictures on the Tiny Art Exchange website!
