Dieren tekenen vind ik erg leuk, en ik hou er ook van om voor mensen hun favoriete dier te tekenen. Dus toen Kerosene desgevraagd antwoordde dat een zwarte panter ooit haar favoriet was, kwam bovenstaande uit mijn pen en penseel rollen. Misschien toch niet de panter die zij bedoeld had?!?

I love to draw animals, and I like to draw people's favourite animal. So when I asked and Kerosene answered that the black panter used to be her favourite, this black panter appeared on my paper. It might not be the one she meant?!?

Woodland Animals

Dankzij Eva ontdekte ik een nieuw mail art project: 'Stuur een glimlach'!
Bedacht door Micu uit Boedapest en Jennie uit Stockholm, met als doel om mensen in nood een glimlach te bezorgen, door ook zelf creatief bezig te zijn met envelop en brief (of kaart, in mijn geval).

Thanks to Eva I discovered a new mail art project: 'Mail a Smile'!
It was started by Micu from Budapest (Hungary) and Jennie from Stockholm (Sweden), with the aim to send smiles to people in need, by being creative ourselves by decorating envelopes and letters (or a card, in my case).



Je kan zelf een glimlach bedenken, of je laten inspireren door een bepaald thema, deze keer 'Woodland animals'. Wat ik in eerste instantie vertaalde als diertjes die in hout leven, maar na wat googlen bedacht ik dat het gewoon bosdieren zullen zijn.

You can think of a 'smile' piece of mail art, or, better, have yourself inspired by the actual theme. The theme of the first 'challenge' is Woodland Animals. I first thought that it would mean 'animals living in wood', but later I realized that these might be all animals living in the woods (forest, 'bos' in Dutch). So I'll send this one, too.

Where has the forest gone?

M'n mail art verstuur-activiteiten zitten de laatste tijd helaas wat op 'n laag pitje. Intussen ben ik 'achter de schermen', tussen alle dagelijkse drukte door, gelukkig wel bezig met het máken, van een mail art serie. Getiteld 'Waar is het bos gebleven?'.
Deel 1 (links, met zeehond) en deel 2 (rechts, stempelontwerp) zijn inmiddels verstuurd. De zeehond naar Haldjas, de zwart-wit tekening naar Ryosuke Cohen.

Last months I've been sending almost no mail art at all. Meanwhile I was and am busy making a mail art series, called 'Where has the forest gone?'.
Part one (you see on the left, with seal) I've sent to Haldjas. Part two (the black and white drawing / stamp design) is on it's way to Japan, to Ryosuke Cohen.
