Damselflies in the Bieb

While my family member was enjoying a drawing lesson from Irene Mulder in the library ('bieb' = 'bibliotheek' in Dutch) I finally found some time to reply to two mail artists who had send pictured insects for my 'Real weird animals' mail art project.

In real I see these damselflies every now and then, but usually they fly to fast to draw them. So the local Bieb brought the solution: plenty of beautiful books, in which I found this Enallagma cyathigerum (above) and Lestes sponsa (below).

Mijn familielid genoot van een tekenles van Irene Mulder in onze plaatselijke bieb. Wat voor mij weer een mooie gelegenheid bood om achterstallige mailart-antwoorden te tekenen.
Waterjuffers zijn altijd erg mooi om te zien, maar ze vliegen wat snel om ze na te tekenen. Gelukkig brengt de bibliotheek uitkomst: vol van mooie boeken. En ik vond dan ook snel mooie plaatjes. Bovenstaande Watersnuffel en onderstaande Gewone Pantserjuffer moet ik alleen nog inkleuren, en dan gaan ze naar Brazilië resp. Mexico.

Sketchbook 'Lines and Grids'

Goed nieuws vandaag in mijn email, van Art House Co-op. Men is druk bezig de eerder dit jaar ontvangen schetsboeken te digitaliseren (van de ruim 28.800 verzonden schetsboeken kwamen er een kleine 10.000 retour).
Het verheugende nieuws: mijn 'Lines & Grids' schetsboek is nu online te bezichtigen! Met allerlei lijnen en 'n beetje, tja, hoe vertaal je 'grids', rasterachtig draadwerk.



Good news in my email from Art House Co-op. They now are digitalizing the received sketchbooks (a lot of work, as of the 28,839 sent books still almost 10,000 were returned).
The gladdening news: my 'Lines & Grids' sketchbook now is online!
With all kinds of lines and a few grids.
